Do you have pages that contain affiliate links on your WordPress blog? How about sponsored posts? Have you ever received something for free in exchange for writing a review?
Most blogs have content like this containing links back to products and websites. But did you know if you don’t “nofollow” these types of links, your blog is violating Google’s webmaster guidelines and could be in line for an SEO penalty!?
It is recommended that you nofollow all affiliate links on your blog, as well as any links in sponsored posts and giveaways. In addition, in March 2016, Google issued a warning that it wanted to see nofollow on promotional links in review posts exchanged for free products.
How to Nofollow
The act of nofollowing a link involves adding the text rel=”nofollow” inside the link’s html code. So the link:
<a href=”https://www.amazon.com”>Buy Awesome Stuff At Amazon</a>
Becomes:
<a href=”https://www.amazon.com” rel=”nofollow”>Buy Awesome Stuff At Amazon</a>
Uhh, Wait…How Many Links?
Easy enough, right? Sure, but as seen by the following scientific formula, the amount of pain caused by doing this over and over again can add up quickly.
That’s why I created the NoFollow Fix. Because my wife came to me and said something along the lines of:
I need to nofollow thousands of links in thousands of posts or Google is going to shut down my blog. This is going to take me thousands of hours and you’ll have to take care of the kids, clean the house, and make dinner all by yourself until I’m done! HELP!!

NoFollow Fix
With our NoFollow Fix, you enter the details and we do the rest.
Sponsored, Giveaway, and Review Posts
Tell us how to identify these types of posts. We’ll use the advanced matching power of The Blog Fixer to use categories, tags, dates, phrases in the post content, or pretty much any other criteria you can think of to make sure all links are nofollowed.
Affiliate Links
Give us a list of Affiliate Programs you use along with a sample URL for each (or just use our default list which will match a majority of the most popular). The Blog Fixer will add nofollow where necessary no matter what posts they exist in.

This options includes the submitting of your Reconsideration Request to Google and any adjustments along the way that are necessary until the penalty is removed.

Reviews
Google sent an email saying they applied a “manual spam action” to my site. Well, that had me a little upset. The Blog Fixer came highly recommended. They went to work and corrected my links and had my “manual action” removed in less than 10 days! I was so pleased I signed up for more fixes.

The blog fix was recommended to me by another professional blogger when I realized I had 140+ blog posts and zero no follow links (I guess I didn’t get that message!). I am beyond happy I listened to her! Getting everything set up and started took less than no time and the fix was done within a matter of days. This not only took the stress out of the situation for me but also saved me the headache of doing it manually.. all for only one hundred bucks.

With blogging, there’s always something to learn. One of those things I learned WAY too late is affiliate links need to be nofollowed. But who has the time to go back and fix hundreds of post?! Not me. The Blog Fixer saved the day and took care of nofollowing all of my affiliate links super fast. This saved me countless hours! I was so impressed by how fast Kris handled everything that I’ve come back and used The Blog Fixer for several other fixes. I highly recommend The Blog Fixer!

The Blog Fixer was recommended by a blogging colleague. I contacted Kris in a panic to help reverse a Google manual penalty because I didn't get the message about no-follow links. He was fast to respond, took care of everything for me, and had me out of Google jail in about a week. I've maintained the plug-in for my peace of mind.
